National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), in association with Rural Development and Self Employment Training Institute (RUDSET), has initiated income restoration and generation activities for project affected persons and families.
NHSRCL’s land acquisition process is not limited to compensation and rehabilitation assistance, but also includes skill development, training enhancement, and livelihood restoration initiatives for affected persons.
Under this programme, a Computer Hardware and Networking training programme was started by RUDSET Institute, Nadiad on 26.06.2019. A total of 26 youths from 6 villages of Kheda District and 5 villages of Anand District benefited from this 45-day skill development training programme.
NHSRCL utilized this opportunity to reconnect with project affected families and informed them about their rights and benefits under the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project.
The certificate distribution ceremony was attended by Shri Sudhir B. Patel (District Collector, Kheda), Shri Achal Khare (Managing Director, NHSRCL), Shri Divya Mishra (SP, Kheda), Shri Pradeep Ahirkar (Chief Project Manager, NHSRCL Vadodara), Shri V.K. Patel (Dy. Collector), Shri Arvind Mothaliya (Director, RUDSET), along with more than 400 project affected persons and their families.
During the ceremony, the Managing Director of NHSRCL stated that this relationship is not just transactional but about growing together. NHSRCL will continue to support trainees and assist them in future initiatives, including formation of cooperative ventures similar to AMUL.
Several similar training programmes such as mobile repairing, beauty parlour services, bike repairing etc. are planned across villages along the MAHSR corridor.
After completion of training, RUDSET supports trainees in establishing their own enterprises. Being sponsored by banks, RUDSET also facilitates loan assistance and provides handholding support for at least two years until the candidates are well established.
