NHSRCL Signs Second Major Contract for MAHSR Corridor (C-6 Package)
National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has signed the second Contract Agreement for Design and Construction of approximately 88 km of viaducts between Vadodara and Ahmedabad in Gujarat (C-6 package), including construction of an elevated High Speed Rail (HSR) station at Anand/Nadiad, for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), with Larsen & Toubro Limited, today.
With this, NHSRCL has awarded civil contracts for the construction of 92% of the MAHSR alignment in the state of Gujarat (325 km out of 352 km). This also includes five HSR stations (Vapi, Billimora, Surat, Bharuch, Anand/Nadiad), a train depot at Surat, and one mountain tunnel of 350 metres.
Last month, in November 2020, NHSRCL had signed a Contract Agreement for 237 km length of viaduct between Vapi (Zaroli Village at Maharashtra-Gujarat Border) and Vadodara for the 508 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.

Managing Director Shri Achal Khare stated that the NHSRCL team has signed two major contracts for civil works of the MAHSR project within the last one month. As construction activities are set to commence, the project is expected to generate significant demand for steel, cement, and allied industries, along with boosting local manufacturers and supply chains.
He further stated that construction activities will also create employment opportunities, for which NHSRCL has already initiated construction-related training programs. These skill development initiatives aim to make the youth “Atmanirbhar” and enhance their employability in the project.
