NHSRCL Awards Second Civil Contract for 88 km Viaduct (C-6 Package) on MAHSR Corridor

National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has awarded the second civil contract for the Design and Construction of approximately 88 km of viaduct between Vadodara and Ahmedabad in Gujarat (C-6 Package), including construction of an elevated High Speed Rail (HSR) station at Anand/Nadiad, for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR), on 18th November 2020.

With this, NHSRCL has awarded civil contracts covering 64% of the total viaduct length of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor, which amounts to 325 km out of the total 508 km corridor length.

This package also includes five HSR stations out of 12 planned stations, namely Vapi, Billimora, Surat, Bharuch, and Anand/Nadiad, along with one train depot at Surat out of three depots planned under the project.

The awarded contracts are expected to provide a significant boost to the Indian steel and cement industries and their allied supply chains. The MAHSR project is also anticipated to generate more than 90,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.

The total cost of the awarded contracts is approximately ₹32,000 crores.
