Skill Development Initiatives under Income Restoration Programme for MAHSR Project Affected Families

To improve skill sets and create opportunities for income generation for the families of project affected persons of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor project, the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is organizing various skill development training programmes under the Income Restoration Programme.

The first batch of 14 candidates from villages in Thane district has completed classroom training in Hotel Management and will now undergo a six-month long On-the-Job Training in a reputed hotel in Andheri, Mumbai. During the classroom training, the participants acquired skills in food production, food and beverage service, housekeeping, communication, and front office operations.

The training programme was conducted by the Council of Education & Development Programmes Pvt. Ltd., a government-recognized institute based in Thane, Maharashtra.

While digitally interacting with the participants, the Managing Director of NHSRCL, Shri Achal Khare, stated that India is a young country and its youth must focus on acquiring skills to become Atmanirbhar and contribute to nation building. He reiterated that NHSRCL is committed to providing skill development training in various disciplines to enhance employment opportunities for young people.

So far, skill development training has been provided to more than 239 participants in various fields such as Computer Hardware and Networking, Computer Accounting, Welding & Fabrication, Mobile Repairing, Electrical Works, and Office Automation.

Currently, NHSRCL is facilitating free-of-cost training in construction-related activities such as bar bending, construction electrical works, plumbing, and plastering in Gujarat and Maharashtra.
