NHSRCL is building a High-Speed Rail Training Institute (HSRTI) in Vadodara. This institute will serve as the training ground for all future high-speed rail workforce in India. HSRTI will train approximately 3,500 staff in various disciplines including rolling stock, civil and track maintenance, electrical, signaling & telecommunication, station management, and train crew operations.
The state-of-the-art institute will be a modern high-speed rail training facility equipped with twelve classrooms, three multipurpose rooms, six practice rooms, two large storage rooms, a 250-seat auditorium, and other advanced construction features. HSRTI will also provide lodging facilities for all trainees.
Training will be imparted through modern, smart, digital, and virtual reality-based classrooms and labs. Simulator-based training will be provided for drivers, conductors, and Operations Control Centre staff.
Special training modules are being prepared across various categories including follow-up/brush-up training, reshuffle/dual trade training, safety/emergency response training, customer care, and soft skills development.
To facilitate training and operations & maintenance readiness, a team of 360 employees will undergo training in Japan. Following this, 78 employees from the group will receive ‘On the Job’ training to develop and master core competencies in their respective domains. The total training period for employees will range from 3 to 12 months across different specializations.
Construction Update:
HSRTI work is divided into three contract packages: TI-1, TI-2, and TI-3. The main institute building (TI-1) is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. A full-fledged training line with slab tracks and associated fittings and fixtures (TI-2) for training purposes will be ready by early 2019. The hostel building (TI-3) is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
